Algerian Police Dismantle Three Organized Drug Trafficking Networks, Seize More Than 112 kg of Cannabis Smuggled from Morocco
The coordinated operations, conducted across eastern, western and central Algeria, resulted in the arrest of 11 suspects, the seizure of more than 112 kilograms of cannabis resin trafficked from Morocco, nearly DZD 10 million in suspected criminal proceeds, and eight vehicles used in the illicit network.

ALGIERS – Algeria’s Central Service for Combating Illicit Drug Trafficking has dismantled three organized criminal networks involved in cross-border drug smuggling and trafficking during coordinated operations carried out across the eastern, western and central regions of the country, according to a statement issued Thursday by the National Police.
The operations led to the seizure of more than 112 kilograms of cannabis resin smuggled from Morocco and the arrest of 11 suspects believed to be members of the criminal networks.
Investigators also confiscated nearly DZD 10 million (approximately one billion centimes) in suspected proceeds of criminal activity, in addition to eight passenger vehicles of various types that were used to transport and distribute the narcotics.
Following the completion of the investigation, the suspects were referred to the competent judicial authorities and appeared before public prosecutors at the courts of Rouiba, Sidi Bel Abbès, and Bir El Ater in Tébessa, the statement added.
The latest operation forms part of Algeria’s broader efforts to combat transnational organized crime, dismantle drug trafficking networks, and strengthen border security against illicit narcotics smuggling.
