Algerian Public Works and Basic Infrastructure Minister Abdelkader Djellaoui carried out an unannounced inspection on Thursday of construction works at the “Taleb Abderrahmane” metro station in Bab El Oued, Algiers, as authorities monitor progress on the capital’s metro extension.
The visit covered the section linking Martyrs’ Square to Bab El Oued, where the minister reviewed major excavation works as well as tunnel reinforcement using specialised support pillars to secure the underground structure.
He also inspected ventilation infrastructure being developed in parallel with the project, along with station access points still under construction, as efforts continue to accelerate delivery and expand the capital’s urban transport network.
