Algeria reaffirms commitment to UN sustainable development goals in talks with senior UN official

Algerian Finance Minister Abdelkrim Bouzred held talks with Amina Mohammed, UN Deputy Secretary-General and head of the UN Sustainable Development Group, on the sidelines of the UN Financing for Development Forum held from 20 to 24 April.
The discussions focused on Algeria’s ongoing efforts to advance sustainable development and meet the 2030 Agenda targets at national, regional and international levels.
Mr Bouzred highlighted initiatives led by the finance ministry to support domestic development efforts, as well as joint projects with UN agencies operating in Algeria.
He also reaffirmed Algeria’s readiness, in its capacity as current vice-president and incoming president of the UN Economic and Social Council, to support the implementation of the “Seville Commitment” adopted by heads of state and government in June.
