Algeria Reviews National Digital Governance System and Strategic Railway Projects

Algiers — Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb chaired a government meeting on Wednesday devoted to Algeria’s digital transformation strategy and progress on major railway infrastructure projects, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s office.
The government reviewed a draft national decision-support system designed in line with directives from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune calling for an integrated governance approach based on interconnection between sectors and national databases.
The project forms part of Algeria’s broader digital transformation agenda and aims to establish a modern, secure and integrated national digital system built on interconnected data and statistical platforms to support strategic public policy decision-making and improve administrative efficiency and public governance.
The proposed framework also introduces a new governance model intended to strengthen coordination across state institutions and enhance the management of public affairs through data-driven policy mechanisms.
Separately, the government reviewed progress on major strategic infrastructure projects, including rehabilitation works on the Aïn Snour–Dréa section of the eastern mining railway line, covering rail track and ballast modernisation.
