SEOUL — Algeria has presented its national experience in promoting transparency and strengthening institutional integrity at the International Anti-Corruption Forum in Seoul, highlighting an innovative performance assessment mechanism designed to reinforce accountability and good governance across the public sector.

The country is participating in the two-day forum through the High Authority for Transparency, Prevention and the Fight Against Corruption (HATPLC), represented by Hamza Khedri, a member of the Authority’s governing council.

The event, held on Thursday and Friday in the South Korean capital, is jointly organised by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission of the Republic of Korea in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), bringing together policymakers, anti-corruption institutions and governance experts from numerous countries.

During the proceedings, the Algerian delegation presented the Integrity Performance Index (IPI), known as “Nazaha,” describing it as an innovative national mechanism developed to strengthen transparency, institutional integrity and accountability throughout the public administration.

According to the HATPLC, the index forms part of Algeria’s broader governance reforms aimed at embedding the principles of good governance while advancing modern tools for evaluating the performance of public institutions and improving the quality of public services.

In his presentation, Khedri outlined Algeria’s evolving national strategy for promoting integrity and preventing corruption, emphasizing the country’s efforts to establish effective institutional mechanisms capable of improving public-sector performance while reinforcing compliance with the principles of transparency, accountability and responsible governance.

The Authority said Algeria’s participation reflects the country’s commitment to strengthening its presence within international anti-corruption forums, expanding cooperation with international partners, exchanging expertise and sharing successful governance practices that support ongoing national efforts to foster a culture of integrity and consolidate the foundations of good governance.
