Algeria, Spain explore expansion of pharmaceutical cooperation in clinical trials and rare diseases

ALGIERS — Algeria and Spain on Monday discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in the pharmaceutical industry, focusing on investment partnerships, clinical research and the production of treatments for rare diseases.
Algeria’s Industry Minister for Pharmaceuticals Wassim Kouidri received Spain’s ambassador to Algeria Ramiro Fernández Bachiller at the ministry headquarters for talks aimed at deepening bilateral industrial and scientific cooperation.
According to a statement from the ministry, both sides reviewed opportunities to enhance technical exchange and encourage partnerships between Algerian and Spanish economic operators and investors in the pharmaceutical sector.
Discussions also focused on expanding cooperation in clinical trials and the manufacturing of medicines targeting rare diseases, with both parties stressing the importance of strengthening industrial capacity and supporting innovation in healthcare production.
The two sides agreed to continue coordination and intensify joint efforts to foster an investment-friendly environment and expand opportunities for pharmaceutical cooperation between the two countries.
