Algiers — Algerian Minister of Post and Telecommunications Sid Ali Zerrouki ordered the rollout of Algeria’s G5 LTE fixed internet network by early 2027 as part of a nationwide telecommunications modernisation programme centred on upgrading connectivity infrastructure and improving service quality.

During a ministerial review meeting on the transition from copper infrastructure to fibre-optic networks, Zerrouki assessed the progress of ongoing works across multiple provinces aimed at strengthening network capacity and enhancing the stability of fixed internet services nationwide.

Abdelghani Aït Saïd, Chief Executive Officer of Algérie Télécom, presented the company’s G5 LTE transition plan designed to optimise connection speeds and improve user experience for G4 LTE subscribers.

The ministry described the future deployment as a major technological upgrade expected to deliver faster connectivity, lower latency and improved network reliability in response to growing national demand for digital services.
