Algérie Télécom Wins Two Photography Awards at UN Information Society Summit
The company’s photographers were recognised at the World Summit on the Information Society Forum in Geneva, where an Algerian artificial intelligence project also received an international award.

ALGIERS — Algérie Télécom has won two photography awards at the 2026 World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum in Geneva, adding to Algeria’s presence at the international event, where an Algerian artificial intelligence project was also recognised.
The awards were presented during the WSIS 2026 Photography Contest, held as part of the summit organised by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in Geneva from July 6 to 10.
According to a statement released by the state-owned telecommunications operator on Sunday, the prizes were awarded to professional photographers Yacine Imadalou and Walid Talbi during a ceremony attended by Minister of Post and Telecommunications Sid Ali Zerrouki and Algérie Télécom Chief Executive Officer Abdelghani Aït Saïd.
Their winning photographs, selected from 465 submissions from around the world, were titled “Joining Forces to Connect the World” by Yacine Imadalou and “The Future at Your Fingertips” by Walid Talbi.
Algérie Télécom said the images were recognised for their creativity, visual impact and their portrayal of how digital technologies can promote inclusion and sustainable development.
Separately, an Algerian project entitled “Artificial Intelligence for Digital Inclusion”, developed by Hachemi Brahim Abdelhak, received a WSIS Prize in the Telecommunication Infrastructure category.
The project was selected from 1,595 submissions representing 122 countries, underscoring Algeria’s participation in one of the telecommunications sector’s leading international forums.
Algérie Télécom said the awards reflect its continued investment in human capital and innovation as part of its strategy to support the development of Algeria’s telecommunications sector and strengthen the country’s international profile in digital technologies.
