ALGIERS — Algerian telecommunications operator Djezzy has signed a partnership agreement with the National Organisation of Algerian Journalists (NOAJ) aimed at expanding access to mobile and digital communication services for journalists affiliated with the organisation.
The agreement forms part of Djezzy’s broader strategy to strengthen cooperation with professional organisations while supporting the digital transformation of Algeria’s media sector, the company said in a statement.
Under the partnership, NOAJ members will gain access to a range of mobile and internet services designed to meet the operational requirements of journalists, enabling faster communication, improved connectivity and greater access to digital tools required for daily reporting.
According to Djezzy, the initiative seeks to provide communication solutions tailored to the evolving needs of media professionals as news production becomes increasingly dependent on digital technologies and real-time information exchange.
The company said the agreement reflects its continued commitment to supporting the media sector through the provision of modern telecommunications services capable of responding to the profession’s changing technological demands.
For its part, the National Organisation of Algerian Journalists described the partnership as an important step towards expanding the range of services available to its members.
The organisation said the agreement would provide journalists with modern digital communication solutions adapted to the requirements of contemporary journalism while contributing to improved working conditions across the profession.
Beyond telecommunications services, the partnership also includes facilitated access to Djezzy mobile devices through instalment payment arrangements, allowing affiliated journalists to acquire smartphones and related services under preferential conditions.
Both parties said the initiative is intended to support the ongoing digital transformation of Algeria’s media landscape by improving journalists’ access to reliable communication technologies and strengthening their ability to operate in an increasingly connected information environment.
