APN Speaker Khalida Boufedeche Receives Minister for Relations with Parliament Nadjiba Djilali

ALGIERS, Algeria — President of the People’s National Assembly (APN) Khalida Boufedeche received Minister for Relations with Parliament Nadjiba Djilali on Wednesday at the headquarters of the lower house of Parliament, according to an official statement issued by the APN.
The meeting took place as a courtesy visit following Boufedeche’s recent election as Speaker of the People’s National Assembly, becoming the first woman to preside over Algeria’s lower parliamentary chamber since the country’s independence.
According to the parliamentary statement, Minister Djilali paid the visit to extend her greetings to the newly elected Speaker, in a gesture reflecting the tradition of institutional engagement between the executive and legislative branches.
