El Djeich editorial underscores national unity, economic consolidation and continued military modernisation

Algiers — The latest editorial of the People’s National Army magazine El Djeich stresses that preserving national achievements requires strengthened unity among Algerians and heightened patriotic awareness in the face of external and internal attempts to undermine the country.
The editorial states that the Algerian people remain conscious of the need to rally around the supreme national interest, while maintaining vigilance against schemes targeting Algeria. It also highlights the importance of safeguarding the legacy of the country’s martyrs and continuing efforts toward a prosperous future built on determination and perseverance.
It underlines that recent economic and institutional achievements reflect a firm political will to establish a strong, balanced and sustainable economy, capable of meeting citizens’ aspirations and reinforcing Algeria’s role as an influential actor in Africa, the Mediterranean and internationally.
Referring to the National Day of Memory marking the 81st anniversary of the 8 May 1945 massacres, the editorial recalls the historical significance of the events as a symbol of colonial violence and a catalyst for the outbreak of the 1 November Revolution.
On the economic front, El Djeich notes sustained growth across key sectors including mining, industry, agriculture, housing, transport and start-ups, driven by structural projects already operational or nearing completion. It also highlights efforts to diversify the national economy and improve the business climate, with international institutions acknowledging Algeria’s upward economic trajectory.
Citing President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the magazine stresses the challenges linked to strengthening economic sovereignty amid regional and global instability, while pursuing a strategic development path based on national mobilisation.
The editorial further notes Algeria’s growing international standing as a reliable partner and a contributor to regional stability, reflected in increased high-level foreign delegations, including civil and military missions.
It adds that the People’s National Army continues its modernisation process through investment in human resources, technological development and equipment upgrades, aligning defence capabilities with contemporary global transformations.
The editorial concludes by reaffirming that national progress depends on unity, vigilance and fidelity to historical sacrifices in order to build a strong, sovereign and prosperous Algeria.
