Saidal, Abbott Expand Cooperation on Influenza Vaccine Production in Algeria

Constantine — A delegation from U.S. pharmaceutical company Abbott visited Saidal’s “Constantine 1” production site as part of ongoing cooperation in influenza vaccine manufacturing, according to a statement issued Wednesday by the public pharmaceutical group.
The delegation, accompanied by the Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Algeria Mark Shapiro, was received by Saidal Group CEO Mourad Belkhelfa.
Discussions focused on the influenza vaccine “Influvac,” with the American delegation expressing appreciation for the strategic nature of the cooperation and highlighting the quality of Saidal’s infrastructure and technical expertise.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation aimed at supporting the development of Algeria’s pharmaceutical industry and improving access to innovative healthcare solutions.
During the visit, Saidal presented its broader development strategy, including advanced research initiatives such as cell therapy programmes, reflecting the group’s focus on medical innovation.
The Constantine 1 site currently produces more than two million doses annually of the Influvac influenza vaccine under its partnership with Abbott.
