Ghrieb: Algeria records 20,000 investment projects worth $67.5bn under AAPI framework

ALGIERS — Algeria has registered more than 20,000 investment projects valued at over 9,000 billion dinars ($67.5 billion), expected to generate more than 525,000 jobs, the Prime Minister said on Monday.
Speaking at an information day on new legal provisions governing the investment single-window system at the El Aurassi Hotel, Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb said: “We are on the right path,” citing “real, tangible and measurable progress” in the implementation of the investment system.
The Algerian Investment Promotion Agency has registered more than 20,000 projects since the entry into force of the new legal framework, with a declared value exceeding 9,000 billion dinars.
He noted the existence of administrative constraints, including delays in document processing and the requirement of multiple copies of the same file, which he said affect investment speed.
He also cited coordination gaps between administrations and insufficient training of representatives within single-window structures, limiting their operational role.
Ghrieb said instructions from the President of the Republic aim to make the investment agency the single operational interlocutor for investors, moving from a fragmented system to an integrated one focused on results and execution efficiency.
