Algeria Launches Remote Electronic Tax Payment Service Through ‘Jibayatic’ Portal

Algeria’s tax authority has introduced a nationwide remote electronic payment service allowing taxpayers to settle taxes and duties online using bank cards or bank transfers, as part of the country’s ongoing digitalisation of public services.

ALGIERS — Algeria’s Directorate General of Taxes (DGI) has launched a new electronic payment service through its “Jibayatic” online tax declaration and payment platform, enabling taxpayers to pay taxes and duties remotely using secure digital payment methods.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the DGI said the service is available to all taxpayers, regardless of their tax regime. Payments can now be made using Interbank (CIB) cards, Edahabia cards, or bank transfers through the National Bank of Algeria (BNA), Popular Credit of Algeria (CPA), Local Development Bank (BDL), Bank of Agriculture and Rural Development (BADR) and the Bank of External Algeria (BEA).

The tax authority urged taxpayers who have not yet obtained their Jibayatic login credentials—comprising a username and password—to contact their local tax offices, tax centres or proximity tax centres as soon as possible to receive access.

According to the DGI, these credentials are required to access users’ personal accounts on the platform and benefit from its digital services, including the ability to fulfil tax obligations securely and remotely without visiting tax offices.

The authority also encouraged taxpayers, particularly those facing upcoming tax deadlines, to make greater use of remote digital procedures, highlighting advantages such as time savings, secure transactions, continuous access to services 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and reduced travel and waiting times.

The DGI reaffirmed its commitment to supporting taxpayers throughout the digital transition, stating that its tax services remain mobilised to provide the guidance and technical assistance required for the effective use of the Jibayatic platform.
