The state-owned postal operator has urged customers to remain vigilant against fraudulent social media pages and phishing links, warning that cybercriminals are using fake competitions and promotional campaigns to obtain personal data and compromise user accounts.

ALGIERS — Algérie Poste has urged customers to exercise heightened caution when using digital platforms, warning of a growing number of fraudulent social media pages and malicious links impersonating the postal operator to deceive users.
In a statement, the company said fake online pages were being used to advertise fictitious competitions and promotional offers designed to lure users into disclosing personal information or interacting with potentially harmful links.
Algérie Poste stressed that safeguarding customers’ accounts and protecting personal data remain among its highest priorities, adding that the warning forms part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen cybersecurity and enhance the protection of users’ digital information.
The company advised customers not to click on suspicious links or engage with unofficial pages or accounts falsely claiming to represent Algérie Poste. It also encouraged users to report any questionable pages or links through the company’s official communication channels to enable the appropriate action to be taken.
Algérie Poste further underlined that user vigilance constitutes the first line of defence against digital fraud, urging customers to verify the authenticity and source of any link, publication or promotional announcement before interacting with it in order to protect their personal data and the security of their accounts.
