Algeria, Senegal Seek to Deepen Bilateral Cooperation and African Integration
Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb and Senegalese Foreign Minister Cheikh Niang reviewed bilateral relations and regional issues, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening cooperation through existing institutional mechanisms and advancing African integration.

ALGIERS — Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb on Sunday received Senegal’s Minister of African Integration, Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Abroad, Cheikh Niang, who is on an official visit to Algeria, to discuss ways of strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation across a range of strategic areas.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, the talks focused on the current state and future prospects of relations between the two countries, with both sides underlining the need to elevate cooperation through the activation of bilateral mechanisms, notably the Algerian-Senegalese Joint Commission and the Algerian-Senegalese Business Council.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on regional and international issues of common interest.
During the discussions, Niang praised Algeria’s role in promoting peace and stability across Africa, particularly in the Sahel region.
Both sides further stressed the importance of strengthening continental integration, describing it as a priority shared by the leadership of both countries.
Ghrieb highlighted the momentum given by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to Algeria’s engagement with Africa at both the bilateral and multilateral levels, within a vision centred on cooperation, solidarity, shared development and deeper economic integration across the continent.
