ALGIERS – Senior officials from Algeria’s Ministry of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion held discussions with a delegation of Saudi business leaders on Wednesday on the sidelines of the 57th Algiers International Fair (FIA), as both sides sought to strengthen economic cooperation and expand bilateral investment opportunities.
According to a statement from the ministry, the meeting brought together ministry representatives and members of a Saudi business delegation led by the Chairman of the Saudi-Algerian Business Council.
The discussions focused on reviewing prospects for enhancing economic and commercial relations between Algeria and Saudi Arabia, with particular emphasis on expanding cooperation between private-sector operators and encouraging reciprocal investment flows.
Participants highlighted the importance of deepening partnerships between Algerian and Saudi companies, particularly in priority sectors that offer significant opportunities for growth and long-term collaboration.
The talks also underscored the need to increase direct engagement between business communities in both countries through regular meetings, trade missions, and investment forums aimed at facilitating the establishment of joint ventures and commercially viable partnerships.
Officials from both sides stressed that stronger interaction between economic operators could contribute to expanding bilateral trade, promoting knowledge exchange, and supporting the development of new investment projects capable of generating mutual economic benefits.
The meeting reflected a shared commitment by Algeria and Saudi Arabia to further elevate their economic relations and translate the positive trajectory of political ties into tangible commercial and investment outcomes.
The discussions took place as the Algiers International Fair continues to serve as a platform for fostering international business contacts, showcasing investment opportunities, and facilitating dialogue between foreign investors and Algerian economic institutions.
