Algerian Red Crescent Conducts Medical Screenings for Quranic Camp Participants in Adrar
By Dr. Hana Saada
ALGIERS – The Algerian Red Crescent (ARC) has conducted a three-day medical screening campaign for children participating in a Quranic summer camp in the southern province of Adrar, as part of its broader efforts to promote preventive healthcare and support educational and community-based initiatives.
The initiative, organised by the Algerian Red Crescent’s medical committee in Adrar from June 22 to 24, targeted 65 children attending the Ihsan Quran Camp, according to a statement issued by the organisation.
The screenings were designed to assess the overall health status of participants and facilitate the early detection of medical conditions that may require follow-up care or specialised consultation. The programme aimed to ensure appropriate medical support and monitoring where necessary while strengthening preventive health measures among young participants.
In addition to conducting examinations, members of the medical team delivered health awareness sessions and practical guidance on preventive practices. The campaign focused on promoting personal and collective hygiene standards and raising awareness of measures aimed at reducing the risk of communicable diseases within the camp environment.
The Algerian Red Crescent stated that the initiative reflects its commitment to supporting educational and social institutions dedicated to youth development, including Quranic schools and camps, through programmes designed to safeguard the health and well-being of children.
The organisation noted that such activities form part of its wider humanitarian and preventive health mission, which seeks to enhance public health awareness, encourage early medical intervention, and contribute to creating safe and healthy learning environments for young people across the country.
