Algeria’s 1st Armoured Division Training Centre Opens Public Information Days in Barika

The First Divisional Training Centre of the First Armoured Division in Barika, “Chahid Bouhali Terghini”, has opened a two-day public information programme, according to military authorities.
The initiative, held at the cultural centre in Barika and organised under the First Armoured Brigade “Chahid Abderrahmane Debbache” of the Fifth Military Region, is aimed at the public, particularly young people.
Speaking at the opening, the division commander said the level of professionalism achieved by the People’s National Army (ANP) required a stronger communication effort with citizens, in line with the institution’s broader strategy to reinforce the Army–Nation bond.
He added that the event offers visitors an opportunity to explore the centre’s training system, its missions, and its role in preparing personnel for armoured warfare, as well as to examine modern equipment, facilities and training methods. It also provides information on admission procedures to the specialised training centre.
The commander of the training centre said its core mission, like other formation structures under the Land Forces Command, is to provide military training and moral preparation, while refining soldiers’ operational skills through structured scientific methods, enabling them to adapt to modern combat requirements.
A documentary screening was organised to present daily life at the centre and its training resources, followed by guided tours of workshops and facilities. The programme also included demonstrations of Kik Sool Won and other combat sports, which drew strong public interest.
