CSJ Launches Third Edition of “Haya Chabab” Ahead of Legislative Elections

The Higher Council of Youth (CSJ) has launched the third edition of its “Haya Chabab” initiative to encourage youth participation in political life ahead of the legislative elections scheduled for 2 July.
In a statement on Sunday, the Council said the programme is part of ongoing efforts to promote civic engagement among young people and increase their involvement in electoral processes.
The first phase, running from 12 to 26 April under the supervision of the National Independent Authority for Elections (ANIE), focuses on voter registration awareness, which the Council described as a prerequisite for exercising electoral rights.
A second phase will follow, centred on encouraging informed participation by young people in elections throughout 2026, with the stated aim of strengthening their role in public life.
The initiative will be implemented through nationwide outreach activities, including awareness campaigns in all wilayas, extending to rural areas and urban districts, to promote electoral registration as the initial step in participation.
CSJ members will also conduct sensitisation activities promoting voting as a civic responsibility and a contribution to institutional development, while seeking to strengthen communication between young people and public institutions.
The Council called on youth stakeholders to engage in the initiative, register on electoral lists and take part in public life, framing youth participation as a key element in national development and institutional consolidation.
